I was lucky enough to spend a weekend upstate with friends working on this beautiful music video for LOVE TAPS “A Pair of Trees”… Just so pretty, the makeup is ok too…

feralflorafauna:

We just finished our music video for the song “A Pair of Trees” by our favorite band Love Taps! Commissioned by Visual Tales Magazine and starring Frances Tulk-Hart & Jason Rossi. We’re so proud to have worked with such a great team and we thank everyone who helped make it possible.

Name: Tamah
Profession: Makeup ArtistWhere are you going? Just finished work and am on my way to meet a friend for dinner in SoHo.Where do you find women make the most mistakes in makeup? Too much makeup. I am a big believer in less is more. It looks more fresh and modern. No need to apply a “full face,” just focus on enhancing naturally for every day. Is your “less is more” approach to makeup linked to your clothing and accessory choices? Yes. I like to keep my tailoring simple, the proportions balanced, then have fun with color, prints, and texture. Today I paired this leather jacket with shearling trim with a pop of bright blue sweater, a peek of a polka dot shirt, a leopard print bag, jeans and black suede pumps. What is your biggest makeup application pet peeve? Seeing woman with mascara smudged on their upper or lower lids. It’s the makeup equivalent of having spinach in your teeth. How do you take care of mascara smudged upper and lower lids? It’s a quick and easy fix! Take a Q-tip with a bit of cleanser on it and swipe it along your upper lash line and lower lash line after applying your mascara.

Tamah’s layers are perfect for the unpredictable weather in New York. Plus, we love bright colors and prints for spring.Posted by : Cole Haan

GET RED CARPET READY!

Happy Oscar Sunday everybody! In honor of the Oscars, lets discuss how to get your skin ready for the red carpet or any big event. No matter the look, beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin. When I am getting a client ready for a big event, I like to use two of my favorite products. Kate Sommerville’s ExfoliKate, and Natura Bisse’s Ice-Lift Diamond Mask. ExfoliKate is an enzyme based exfoliant, so it rejuvenates your skin without being aggressive. You apply a thin coat of it in the shower, leave it on for about three minutes and rinse. It leaves your skin radiant. The Ice-Lift Diamond Mask you apply over your moisturizer, which is genius, it peels off leaving your skin supple and perfectly makeup ready. I can’t rave about these two more, they are a dynamic duo of skin care!
